Naman - Where Tradition Meets Craftsmanship
Our mission is to bring the beauty of Indian artisanal craftsmanship to the world. We strive to create products that not only enhance your living spaces but also tell a story of cultural heritage and skilled artistry. By supporting NAMAN, you are helping to preserve traditional crafts and empower artisans to continue their legacy.
Our Story
NAMAN was born out of a passion for preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of artisanal crafts by a self-made woman entrepreneur who has been running a proud and successful unit of the Khadi and the village industries commission for the past 17 years. Our founder Mrs. Chayaa Nanjappa Rajappa, driven by a deep appreciation for traditional artistry and determination to take forward, endeavoured to take rural and tribal empowerment to the next level. She set out to create a brand that bridges the gap between the past and the present. NAMAN means “gratitude” in Sanskrit and it is a tribute to the countless artisans who have dedicated their lives to perfecting their craft.
At NAMAN, our vision is to empower tribal and rural artisans, taking their craftsmanship to new heights while promoting art and heritage. We strive not only to make these traditional crafts self-sustainable but also to scale them up, ensuring artisans receive the best healthcare, education, and an improved lifestyle with better social living conditions.
NAMAN was conceived during the first wave of COVID-19. While many industries globally were closing down, we created an opportunity to support our artisans. During the lockdown, we applied for and received a loan, becoming the first social venture approved under the “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” initiative. Mrs Chayaa Nanjappa Rajappa with the unwavering support of her husband Rajappa completed the project within 9 months. When the brand was set for the launch, a selfless entrepreneur was brought down by an unexpected additional highway acquisition. Despite all odds she pressed forward with a burning passion.
NAMAN is committed to doing things extraordinarily, expanding through franchises across the globe. We intend to leave a strong impact on over 5,000 artisans in India, helping them remain connected to their roots with improved social conditions.
By supporting NAMAN, you are contributing to a movement that helps stop the migration of artisans to cities, allowing them to thrive in their native environments and continue their craft
